5 November 2026
Egypt's Automotive Plans
According to Daily News Egypt, Egypt is targeting annual production of up to 100,000 electric vehicles by 2032, as reported by Daily News Egypt. This is part of the government's plan to localise automotive manufacturing and reduce import dependence.
New Electric Vehicle Models
Electrek reports that BYD's new luxury electric SUV, the Denza N9 EV, weighs over 8,200 lbs. Additionally, CarNewsChina states that Chery's Arrizo 7 sedan has entered production with a 1,700 km hybrid range. InsideEVs also notes that the 2027 Chevy Silverado EV will receive a power bump and a NACS port. Furthermore, Electrek mentions that the Ford Fathom EV pickup prices will range from $28,350 to the high $30Ks.
This means that someone importing vehicles into Egypt may need to consider the country's growing domestic electric vehicle production capabilities in their business plans.
