According to InsideEVs, BYD will introduce an EV model with solid-state batteries next year, as stated by BYD's Stella Li. Additionally, InsideEVs reports that the second-generation BYD Seagull, also known as the Dolphin Surf, will feature 5-minute charging.

Changan Auto and Mercedes Updates

CarNewsChina reports that Changan Auto is consolidating Avatr and Deepal to streamline operations. InsideEVs also notes that the 2027 Mercedes G 580 EV will have a NACS port, more range, and faster charging, as well as two charging ports.

EV Charging Infrastructure

InsideEVs states that EVgo is upgrading its network with 750 kW EV chargers that support dynamic power sharing and will feature more NACS ports. This means that someone importing into Egypt may need to consider the evolving EV charging infrastructure when selecting a vehicle.
